We proclaim the name of the Lord,
And declare the pow’r of His Word;
We proclaim, we proclaim the name of the Lord.
We proclaim the name of the Lord,
And declare the pow’r of His Word;
We proclaim, and we magnify the name of the Lord.
Celebrate the things He has done,
And declare that the battle is won;
We proclaim, we proclaim the name of the Lord.
And the glory of God shines upon the earth!
And the glory of God reveals His endless worth!
We proclaim the name of the Lord,
And declare the pow’r of His Word;
We proclaim, and we magnify the name of the Lord.
Celebrate the things He has done,
And declare that the battle is won;
We proclaim, we proclaim, O, we proclaim,
We proclaim, yes, we proclaim,
We proclaim the name of the Lord!

Read Psalm 145.
We Proclaim—
with the Promise of authority. The
emphatic announcement that the One, the Word, is everything He ever claimed to
be, that every promise ever made has been kept far beyond anything we could
imagine, and He is greater than any mere sound that the tongue could convey.
that Restoration of the lost and revival of
the discouraged comes in the utterance of His name by a heart broken in
confession of who He is and what we are.
as Official members of the High Court of
heaven, princes and princesses of the King of the universe, and empowered by His
Spirit to declare the earth is His and all that is in it.
our Compelling need to deliver the news of
Christ, even at great personal sacrifice, because His unquenchable love for the
unlovable first consumed our heart of stone.
to Lead others to an understanding of the
necessity of a personal Savior who died so they could call Him Father, Brother,
Bridegroom, and Friend.
by Allowing the intimacy of our personal
experience with the Lover of our souls to be seen and touched by those destitute
of hope.
to Increase the harvest of the One who reaps
the victory.
Magnifying the name of the One who is King
of kinds, Lord of lords, and the Victor over all.
Food for Thought:
A proclamation by definition is an official
announcement and carries with it various characteristics and purposes.
Match the following attributes of proclamation with the verse that best fits it.
Psalm 66:16; Psalm 145:4; Psalm 145:6; Isaiah 62:11; Acts 17:3;
Acts 20:27; Romans 1:4; I Peter 1:8; I John 1:3
It is Emphatic
It is Important
It is based on belief/experience
It is made out of a desire for others
It is made of personal necessity/compelled
It offers explanation
Psalm 145 is a beautiful proclamation of the
many names, attributes, and works of the Lord. Reading through the Psalm,
list all the names or attributes of the Lord you can find, and include verse
references. For example, Psalm 145:14—Sustainer.
During the next week, make a conscious
effort to proclaim the name of the Lord, and then make a note of how He fulfills
your proclamation, both in your life and in the life of the one(s) to whom you
proclaimed.
