This is a great song of praise based on the theme…"Give God the glory, and He will give you the victory." The song is up-lifting and fast moving.

Read John 17:1-5.
Bad days are assets, and tragedy is triumph. Go around spouting those words with any frequency and men with a little white jacket may just start chasing you down. At least that is what most of the world considers a glorifying life — insanity. Why would anyone want to rejoice in a damaged day or proclaim victory over a lost life? Jesus spends His words and His life answering that very question — teaching us that living to glorify God makes our life an asset to God, which in turn brings us great victory over the damage and loss.
Jesus knows all about glory — both giving and receiving. His whole life on earth was spent pointing to His Father, showing everyone the wonders of His grace, the joy of His will. The Lord had more than His share of difficulties and tragedies and yet, not once does He ever consider His burdens to be outside of His Father's perspective. Even when considering His cross — the most tragic event of the times — does Jesus ever consider it anything other than His ultimate method of glorifying God. By shedding His blood in death, Jesus made the Resurrection possible and His enemy's defeat inevitable. And He opened the door to heaven that all who would follow Him would fill eternity with choruses of glory to the Savior.
Satan would have his victory in damage and loss that never makes it beyond self. His momentary victory comes from those who focus on their suffering and never look to God — those who live for their misery, who live a bloodless life. By reaching out and touching Jesus' blood, claiming His death for your own, God will bring resurrection, turning the damaged and tragic to rejoicing and victorious. You become God's asset of glory and trophy of victory.
Difficult days are upon us and tragedy often seems to be just around every corner. Will you allow God's perspective to fall upon your heart, giving Him glory despite the pain and praise instead of despair? Eternity starts now so let us glorify the Lord now because nothing we experience is "... unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it." (John 11:4) That is the asset of our lives.
Food for Thought:
Read Psalm 29:1, Psalm
69:30, Psalm 86:12, Romans 15:6, and I Corinthians 10:31. What are some of the
aspects or components involved in glorifying God?
What comfort and
encouragement do you receive when glorifying God in the midst of difficulties?
What difficulties are you
encountering this week, and specifically what will you do to glorify God through
these difficulties?
