"Blended Worship" has become the norm for many churches that desire to maintain ties to the majestic hymns of old...yet also want to recognize the worth of contemporary worship choruses written in recent years.
These Blended Worship Flow Sheets are suggestions for theme-based church worship services. As an introduction, first read How to Use Flow Sheets. Also, remember that you can refer to the list of Book Codes used in these Flow Sheets.

Mercy Refused! -
This service order starts with some great praise choruses, and then it begins to
emphasize the theme of God's mercy.
What's So Amazing about Grace? - God offers
a grace that builds and expands in our lives so that we can become living
vessels filled with His presence and grace.
With Love and Praise... - "O the deep,
deep love of Jesus, vast unmeasured, boundless, free." How else can we
respond, except by "My Jesus, I love Thee...if ever I loved Thee, 'tis now."
A Time for Prayer - At Scottsdale Bible
Church, where these Flow Sheets were created and first used, we have periodic
services where the worship time includes an invitation for the congregation to
come forward for prayer (with pastors, elders, and women's ministers of the
church). The music during this time is quiet and prayerful, and the entire
congregation is encouraged to be in a time of prayer and reflection.
Jesus, We Crown You with Praise - This is
a service with time for quiet worship and praise, directed to our Creator and
God.
Call on Him - This
is another of the services where the music and worship time is centered around
an invitation for the congregation to pray. The choral anthem "Call on
Him" begins the prayer time.
Be Still and Know
- Jesus, our Lord and Savior...we can call upon His name, we can sing of His
mercies, we can adore Him, we can sing of His blessings, and we can simply be
still...and know that He is God.
Changed Lives! -
Our God is majestic, He is worthy of our praise, and He can change lives!
Come, Holy Spirit
- This service reminds the worshipper of the comfort and strength provided
through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Sing Praise to God
- This service is based on Psalm 100..."Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all
ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before His presence
with singing."
We Worship You -
This service is designed to focus attention on God's greatness and holiness.
Worthy is the Lamb
- This service is intended as a communion service.
Glory to the Name
of the Lord - This is a celebration of the Lord Almighty and His greatness!
Nothing But the
Blood of Jesus - Many try substitutes, but nothing can save us but the blood of
Jesus.
The God of Abraham
Praise - Our Lord is the promised Jewish Messiah. This is a service of
friendship to our Jewish neighbors.
Be Still and Know
that I Am God - This is a service planned around the theme of prayer.
There is a flexible time designed in the middle of the service for people to
pray, either wherever they are sitting or with a pastor, elder, or women's
minister.
Seekers of Your
Heart - This is another service planned for prayer emphasis. The backdrop
for the prayer time are songs that stress and declare God's holiness.
God of Ages Past -
This is a unique and very effective service that is centered around music and
church literature from the 1st millennium of the church.
How Majestic is
Your Name - This service declares the majesty, power, and glory of God. It
is an exuberant service, with some upbeat worship songs, as well as triumphant
hymns.
Keep Us Together,
Lord - This is a service led by women, for a communion week. A ladies
ensemble (HeartSong) and ladies trio (One Heart) were the key leadership groups,
in addition to the women of the Worship Choir.
Men of God!
Rise Up! - This service was designed to be more of a men's rally than worship,
as such. However, it was a great experience and made a great statement to
our church. All of the men who are a part of our men's ministry and/or had
been to Promise Keepers were invited to come to the platform and join the men of
the Worship Choir to sing the first 4 songs. It worked great!
Bless the Name of
the Lord - This service gives glory and honor to the King of Kings. It
includes songs, such as "Be Exalted, O God," "Majesty," "Glorify Thy Name," and
others.
Declare the Glory
of God! - This service was used as a missionary service that differs from many
you may have used in the past. It emphasizes that true missionary outreach
involves helping others to worship their God and Maker. It includes songs,
such as "All Creatures of Our God and King," "God is Able," and John W.
Peterson's "Declare His Glory."
Coming Again! -
This service is about the Second Coming of Christ. We used some of the old
favorite Gospel songs, as well as newer expressions. It is a great mix!
Try it!
Give Thanks to the
Lord - We give thanks to "O God, Our Help in Ages Past" and our "Beautiful
Savior" with songs of thankfulness like "Give Thanks" and "Forever Grateful."
This service includes testimonies from several people who have changed lives
because of their acceptance of Jesus Christ.
A
Gospel-Song-Sing-a-Lot Sunday! - This service was just a good old
Gospel-Song-Sing-a-Lot Sunday! Try it! If you're in a church where
people have a lot of church background, but they haven't sung these songs for a
while, they'll love it!
Jesus...Worthy of
Honor and Glory - Jesus...He's worthy of our highest praise and glory and
exaltation. He's a reason to celebrate. We can trust in Him knowing
that we can prove Him o'er and o'er. He will never fail us!
Crucified with
Christ - This service prepares the worshipper for the communion service.
We hear Psalm 51, where David pleads for mercy as a sinner. We sing of the
power of the blood of Jesus, and we give thanks, because we have been crucified
with Christ. Because Christ has died for us, we can joyfully sing "It Is
Well with My Soul."
Deacons...God's
Servants in the Church - This service was used when our weekly walk through 1st
Timothy came to the verses describing the qualifications and roles of deacons in
the church. Deacon is the Greek word for servant. As the message
described, and the children sang: "If you want to be great in God's
Kingdom...learn to be a servant of all!"
Being Joyful Daily
in the Lord - Nehemiah points out in Nehemiah 8:10 that "The joy of the Lord is
your strength." This service points out the daily joy that can come from
knowing that the Lord is King, that He's good all the time, and very
simply...that Jesus loves us.
Giving Thanks -
From the pre-service music to the postlude, this service is filled with
expressions of giving thanks. "Count Your Blessings," "Give Thanks," "Now
Thank We All our God," and "He's Been Faithful," are just a few of the
expressions of thankfulness used in this Thanksgiving service.
Come Into His
Presence with Singing - Psalm 146:2 says, "While I live I will praise the LORD:
I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being." This service is a
wonderful combination of singing, scripture reading, prayer, and communion...all
focused on drawing near to the presence of God.
Exalt the Name of
Jesus - Philippians 2:10-11 says, "...that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow...and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord."
This service helps us to exalt, glorify, and praise the name of Jesus.
Commissioned to
Serve - This service was used when commissioning new missionaries from our
church to go to their missionary calling. It could also be used as a
general missions-emphasis service. Songs like "Lead Me Lord" and "Carry
the Torch" help to convey the missions call.
In Honor of
Mothers - This service is for Mother's Day. There are children's songs,
song about the importance of God and love in the family, and times for
presentations to mothers.
Such Wondrous
Grace! - God's grace...undeserved, unmerited, but still oh so freely given to
each of us. This service focuses on this wondrous truth: God's grace
is always available, in endless supply, ready to meet our every need. This
service is completed by a wonderful prayer and communion time after the message.
Fit For a King! -
This service overflows with praises that are fit only for the King of Kings.
The scripture says to praise Him with instruments and cymbals, with timbrel and
dance, and to let everything that has breath praise Him. We sing of the
"Majesty" of "Our Eternal King." Praise Him!
